Style, versus Fashion

“Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose.”
Lauren Hutton
As a Merchandiser for rapidly growing jewelry and accessory company, Chloe and Isabel, I have lots of beautiful bling at my fingertips. While every few months brings a new wave of designs, colors and themes, I often find myself sorting through to find the classics. The dainty pieces. The goes-with-everything splash of color. Things I can see myself wearing the next five years regardless of what Vague and Style Watch say are the hits of the season. I like to think that while I'm not ever going to be anyone's fashion icon, I have my own personal sense of style. Hopefully, if you stick with reading this blog over time, you will develop a style of your own. As I dash off from my day job (working with youth through a non-profit) to my next task (feeding our herd of goats and chickens), I'd like to leave you with two of my favorite style items so far this season. Feel free to check them out!

The Floppy Hat...
I said I would never be a big hat wearer, but I finally caved in and bought one. Now, I wear it every time I head to the beach or pool, and sometimes when I'm going out. Don't think you'd feel comfy in a floppy hat? Take some suggestions from this great 2015 write up, "14 Ways to rock a floppy hat like you were born for it". I happened to buy my floppy hat from Chloe and Isabel, so if you want to give ours a try you can find it here.

Bold Lashes...
No one ever had lashes to long or full--at least that's my opinion. I've seen so many great products this year, and have only had a chance to try a few of them. I'm loving the 3D mascara from Younique (available here) and the newest Lash Intensity mascara from Mary Kay (available here). With lashes this bold, it's easy for me to pull of not wearing a lot of other make-up and still looking half decent!

Tune in next week for my favorite summer recipes...
